HARIO V60

Ingredients:

  • 17 g of coffee beans for one person
  • Purified or bottled water
  • One Hario V60-2 Cup
  • One electric kettle or goose neck kettle*
  • One dessert spoon
  • Digital or analog scale
  • Stopwatch
  • One coffee mug or glass serving bowl

Preparation:

  1. Boil about half a liter of water.
  2. Place the paper filter suitable for the Hario V60-2cup in the brewing section, folding the thick side in half.
  3. Place the brewing chamber and the mug (glass serving cup) on the scale and tighten.
  4. Rinse the paper filter with approx. 200 gr. hot water. Then pour out the water that has accumulated in the mug or serving bowl.
  5. Grind 17 g of coffee for one person to the thickness of filter coffee. Pour the ground coffee into the paper filter in the brewing chamber and ensure a snug fit without touching it.
  6. Take the tare of the scale again. For 17 gr. of coffee, pour 180 ml. hot water (make sure that the water is not boiling) directly from the electric kettle or goose neck kettle, if available, and start pouring it slowly over the coffee in a circular motion from the center outwards, without getting water between the coffee and the paper. First pour 80 ml. of water and wait for 30 seconds for the aromas in the coffee to be released.
  7. Then continue pouring the rest of the water slowly and in a circular motion. Near the end of the brewing time, pour water around the edges to ensure that the coffee is fully mixed with the water.
  8. Aim for a brewing time of 1:30 to 2:00 minutes for one person.
